Guild Policies

Introduction

Welcome to the Abandon Hope website, we are a newer guild of experienced players that are looking forward to growing in the next few months. We raid on Sunday nights with 1 strong 10 man, that will be killing internet dragons and taking names! Along with that we like to do guild BGs, and world PvP. This guild is built upon the sound foundation of friends that have been playing WoW since launch. Tired of poor lackluster performance in larger guilds, abysmal officers, and twisted decision making we have set out to form a "more perfect guild" based upon the realization that sound judgement, logical decision making process, and trustworthy leadership need not be a misty idea attainable only in ones imagination. If you are looking for a place to call home, where you can find reliable soldiers and good raiders your search has come to a successful conclusion. Abandon Hope looks forward to inviting you into our ranks.

Guild Structure:

Peon: Rank for those who have an interest to become a member of Abandon Hope. This period is a 2-3 week trial period. During this time one must prove their selves worthy of being a member.

Alts: This rank is for alts that a member of Abandon Hope might have.

Grunt: Friends and retired Vet members

Orphan Makers: Our PvP rank. These players are committed to helping members that are in need of assistance, due to ganking. They organize PvP events, such as town raids and guild battlegrounds. Most of all the love of Alliance blood.

Black Guard: This is our raiders rank. They have made a commitment to ensure guild progression.

Sergent of Arms: Officer Alts

Master of Arms: Officers responsible for assisting in raid leading and recruitment of new members, furthermore they ensure that lower DPS members receive assistance in improving their DPS.

High Council: Officers that oversee the health and resolve conflict between members.

Imperator: Your guild leader

Guild Officers

Guild Leader: Valance

-Officers-
Aerin: PvP Officer
Malidek: Main Recruiter and Assistant Raid Leader
Skyts: Raid Leader
Odaruj: Guild health and General Assistant

Guild Policies:

1. Treat other guild members and officers with respect. This goes for all of us.
2. Guild chat and Vent are not rated PG-13, but don't be stupid.
3. Remember that you represent the guild in public chat channels and forums.
4. Treat pugs with as much respect as they deserve. We will not tolerate ninjaing of any kind.
5. If you have a serious problem with another guild member’s behavior, please talk to an officer. Without doing so, we can’t work on the problem. Try to keep serious arguments confined to tells or private Vent channels. Do not do this publically.
6. If an officer has to talk to you about your behavior or attitude, inside or outside of the guild, consider it an official warning. To many warnings will result in removal from the guild.
7. No begging! If you ask a couple times for someone to run you through something and they say no, then NO is the answer. Don’t expect us to help you level and gear alts.

Raiding Policies:

RAID TIMES 7-10pm (server) Sunday

1. Come fully prepared. This includes food, flasks, knowledge of fights, fully repaired,(gear gemmed and enchanted) and ready to accept invites 15 min before raid time.
2. Let us know whenever possible when you can't make a raid night. Post in the "Raid Tardy Forum" forum thread. If you can not stay for the entirety of the raid, let an officer know before you accept the invite.
3. It is up to you to know when you are due for loot, and what is an upgrade. Loot will be tracked on the website, but knowing ahead of time is your responsibility.
4. Keep vent quiet during boss fights. We need it open for tanks & healers.
5. When you get a new item, have it enchanted and gemmed before the next raid, failing to do so will keep you from getting more upgrades
6. Relax and have fun!

Raiding Loot Policy:

EPGP is based on the concept of Effort Points and Gear Points. Effort Points quantify the effort each member put towards the (common) guild goals and Gear Points quantify what each member got back in return. Loot priority is computed as the quotient of the two; priority (PR) is equal to EP/GP. In plain English, in a traditional DKP system you receive effort points that increase your DKP pool and spend them to receive loot which decreases your DKP pool. The person with the largest DKP pool has the most buying power. In EPGP, you receive effort points but you also receive loot points. These are separate from each other and your buying power is defined by your effort points divided by your loot/gear points.

EP for Raiding:
Being on time for raids: 50
Recurring EP will be given throughout raid (75 every 30 min)
Killing New Bosses: 500

<Actions Below are "Weekly Quests" ie.. you cant do them 6x a week> For extra EP

Participating in Guild activities (Guild gatherings, Ex- protect someone fishing for achievements from alliance, Guild ritual, Etc): 50
Helping keep the bank supplied with flasks/food/pots for raiders & PvP: 25 (100g in Mats -ore, herbs, pots, gems etc- or currency)
Doing some grunt work such as running a new recruit through instances: 25
Being active on forums: 25 (Must make 3 constructive posts... ie more than "hi")
Participating in Rated Battlegrounds: 25

These must be done by Saturday. Anything done on Sunday will count for the following week.

GP points are accounted through some other set of action:
Receiving loot in a raid
Failure to show without 24hour warning: -200 EP

No Showing
People set aside their time to have some fun with virtual friends, no showing to a raid without prior warning (48+ hours) is an inconvenience to the other people that were counting on you. We understand that things happen, but outside of extenuating circumstances you're expected to be there. Failure to show will result in EP loss. Failure to show on Progression nights will result in a 5% loss on EP unless a week notice is given.

Decay
EPGP, that makes it different than other loot systems is the fact that EP and GP decay over time. The decay can be set by the guild master (it can also be disabled if it is set to zero). With a decay of 10%, before each raid that the Guild participates in, each member gets her EP and GP reduced by 10%. This eliminates EP (DKP) hoarding.

New members vs veterans
Because of the decay, new members become equal under the system much faster. EPs decay over time so with a 10% decay in about 8-10 raids a veteran has about the same EP as a new member (if they both attended the same raids). The only barrier to entry for new members is reaching Min EPs in order to be eligible for loot.

Peons: Peons must reach the loot Threshold before be eligible foot loot

HOW TO APPLY:
Let me reiterate this. When we look at an application, and the answer to the first question is "I can mak it to all raids, no problem," we're going to look down on you. Take an extra three minutes from your life, proofread your app, and maybe even use some fancy BBcode formatting. It will help your chances immensely.

The link to apply is found on the Home Page under "Guild Applications" on the left side of your screen. Below the listed classes is a link entitled "apply now" click on that link and fill out the required information and then click "submit" when your done.
